Husein Madhavji is a versatile actor and storyteller working across television, film, and stage. He’s best known for his five-season run as Dr. Shahir Hamza on the acclaimed medical drama Saving Hope, and for standout performances in Art (Soulpepper Theatre) and Behind the Moon (Tarragon Theatre).

His screen credits include Schitt’s Creek, Donkeyhead (Netflix), Daniel Tiger’s Neighborhood (PBS), Mira, Royal Detective (Disney+), Star Trek: Strange New Worlds (Paramount+), and The Spencer Sisters (The CW).

As a writer, Husein co-created the award-winning short The Time Traveller, and his original pilots Desi Family and Huse Right were recognized by the Launchpad Screenwriting Competition.

He is currently developing and set to direct his debut feature, One Last Song, a heartfelt father-son road trip dramedy. He also has two original series in active development.

Before stepping into scripted work, Husein built a successful career in broadcast television, hosting a globally syndicated entertainment series and interviewing some of the biggest names in film, music, and pop culture.
